Seriously have been eating too much for my own good but this shall be the last of cafe adventures! I went to try Brother Bird with Aveline because both of us read Daniel Food Diary too much and have too many similar cravings for swirly soft serves 🙂
I got the taro and cookie butter mixed swirls on top of chocolate mochi donuts, with cranberries and a coconut crunch. Aveline got a cookie butter swirl on top of a caramel glazed mocha donut, with cranberries and almond flakes! Both the ice cream flavours tasted very similar, and the mochi donut texture just didn’t really work for me heheh. After eating the donuts, the ice cream also just tasted really plain! If you want to try this, I would suggest just getting the soft serve without the donuts 😦 We initially wanted the matcha soft serve but apparently the flavours are seasonal so they switch them out from time to time!
The donuts also come served hot, so the ice cream melts really quickly as you can see in the photo below! Before I could finish eating the donuts, the ice cream had already largely melted into a pool around the donuts 😦
I don’t think I will be back here heheh! I would really like to try Sunday Folks instead 🙂
Just today I met Nicole to try the waffles and ice cream at Hatter Street! Hatter Street is a Alice in Wonderland themed cafe, with a lot of quirky props and murals decorating the cafe. We got two things to share, a sundae and a waffle! They recently added four sundaes to the menu. The one we got was called Choochi Monster, and had a scoop of peppermint chocolate chip and a scoop of cookies and cream, chocolate coconut sauce, orea-like biscuits, chocolate chip cookies and marshmallows! We both agreed this sundae was overpriced and mint ice cream isn’t our thing hahaha but if you like mint and cookies, you’ll like this! They also had other fun flavours that were inspired by local treats, like one called Kopicat, which had pandan and coffee ice cream with kaya toast on top.
The staff were really friendly 🙂
Here’s our “whoaffle” with a scoop of pandan ice cream and a drizzle of gula melaka sauce! The waffle was really light and crisp on the outside but soft on the inside 🙂 The pandan flavour of the ice cream also worked really well with the sauce! There are a lot of other ice cream flavours and sauces that you can choose from 🙂
Feeling really guilty looking at all the stuff I have eaten oh man 😦
