Yesterday I met up with my dance batchies (Braidotes) minus Alyssa (because she had Malay drama rehearsals D: ) to play/finalise the Year 4 farewell batch item.
Then we went into Build A Bear in hopes of getting a bear/dog/bunny to bring home as a batch toy but nobody wanted to pay so that didn’t work out 😦 Maybe someday we will get one so we can take turns to bring it home/to prac!
Ruth, Jiayi, Ethel, Shu Xin and I took a picture with the 0.9m girl after prac the other day so we decided our whole batch had to do it too x) We asked a nice lady (whom I think was advertising some insurance/bank account plan) to help us take the photo and so many people were judging us hahahaha 😀 But #yolo and we will probably see this in 3 years time when we watch our own photo montage :’)
Then we took the MRT to go to my house but we had to take a detour to a playground nearby to film one last scene for the Year 4’s video. We ended up playing for 90% of the time and I took quite a few photos/videos of everyone having fun. Quoting Ruth, “They like never play at the playground before.” Hahaha yep indeed they made the playground seem so much more fun!
So after that we went to my house to finish up the videos and make clay charms for the Year 4s as their batch gift! We also played a round of Game of Life 😀 Then we just watched our video over and over because we are too funny for ourselves hahaha x)
So today was the big day – Year 4 farewell party!
The theme for the party was tea party! The decorations were really pretty and totally suited the theme (thank you logistics committee!) Everyone was supposed to wear a pastel coloured dress/skirt but only a few people did heheh 😛
We watched the photo montage while eating lunch and I think everyone was quite entertained by the Year 4’s cuteness and funniness (is this a word) hahaha. My batch had fun doing the montage – it was an excuse to stalk 😀
Then we watched the Year 3’s skit which involved them acting as the Year 4s! It was highly entertaining and had everyone laughing really hard 🙂
Our turn came after that so we played the video and prayed hard that they would understand our jokes (because they targeted individual seniors teehee). It turned out alright in the end and everyone laughed so phew! At the end of our video we had a surprise in store for them and I can safely say that nobody (apart from my batch of course!) was expecting it 🙂 So what we did was we contacted Batch ’10, the Year 4’s Year 4s when they were in Year 1, and asked them to write a message for Batch ’13. So they very kindly did so (thank you Dawn!) and it was a pleasant surprise ^_^
Next the Year 2s did their High School Musical 2 dances! It was an uplifting item that captured their fun-loving side and we really enjoyed it!
After that it was time for farewell speeches and the presentation of batch gifts. Our batch sang a parody (to the tune of the I Love You song from Barney and Friends!):
I love you
You love me
We are one dance family
With a grand jete and plie from me to you
Won’t you say my splits are good
Hehehehe so it wasn’t really a speech but I think (or hope) they enjoyed it 😀 And we gave them CDs with the videos in them and little clay cupcake keychains (which they thought were adorable yay).
A picture with the lovely Year 4s! We’ve never really taken pictures with just their batch before so this is one picture we will treasure! Check out their graduation bears from the teachers hehe they’re so cute (^.^)
We also played games like Twin Towers, Ice and Freeze and Bang 😀 It was really really fun playing as an entire CCA for the last time :’) Especially since we played Twin Towers (and Bang?) for our dance orientation at the start of the year. It was such a great way to end the year (well almost) in the same way 🙂 It was like coming full circle!
Here’s a batch photo I stole from Sophie’s facebook (I put it on Instagram as well teehee thanks Soph)! Missing Hazel and Alyssa here though (it’s okay we will take another on Monday during self prac) 🙂 I really love my batchies so much because they are so entertaining and caring and responsible and really anything you need them to be for you! We’ve come so so far as a batch this year and I can’t wait for what Concert Year 2014 has in store for us 😀
Lastly, here are the pretty and thoughtful notes from the graduating Year 4s 🙂 Thank you all so much for taking the time to write and decorate these notes full of encouragement and love! We definitely aspire to be the great dancers you all are ^.^ The guidance (and diao-ing) from you have helped us in our integration into the CCA and we appreciate it wholeheartedly! We are looking forward to you coming back for the alumni concert performance next year!
